JURY CITATION: FRANCES STARK
“The jury awards the Absolut Art Award for ‘Art Work’ to artist Frances Stark for her proposal to realise a
pedagogical opera, in which music and education are mixed to tell a recent history of America. In the last few years Stark's videos have captured the anthropological transformation of life and love in front of the computer screen: with this new project Stark promises to take her research further to discuss education in academia and in the streets.’
